Lead Teacher Teacher Assistant
We are growing and looking for experienced teachers and teacher assistants! Providence Preschool is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, reliable, self-sufficient, hard workers who enjoy working with children and being in a Christian-filled environment! Providence Preschool is open Monday through Thursday from 9:15am till 1:15pm for the 4-year-olds and Tuesday through Thursday from 9:15am till 1:15pm for the three-year-olds. Employees' hours begin at 8:45am and end at 1:45pm.
JOB: Lead Teacher
We are seeking to hire Lead Teachers who are active Christians with a desire and calling to work with preschool-aged children for the 2024-25 school year
Responsibilities
- Serves as Lead Teacher and is responsible for following the schedule as outlined by Preschool Director
- The job responsibilities include but are not limited to, providing a safe learning environment with effective classroom management that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential while ensuring their emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social growth
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and engage students in the educational process
- Prepare and lead classroom activities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communication with parents
- Manage classroom procedures and student behavior
- Attends staff meetings, and in-service training sessions
- Works collaboratively with the Teacher Assistant
- Comply with all policies and regulations outlined in the Providence Preschool Employee Handbook
Benefits
- Compensation is commensurate with experience
- Starting rate $10.00 - $11.00 an hour
Qualifications of Lead Teacher
- Be an active Christian and live and teach in ways that are pleasing to God, in your personal and work-life
- Apply basic knowledge of child development to your working conditions and environment
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent
- Remain calm and use sound judgment in an emergency
- Interact and communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and the general public
- Work well without close supervision
- Must exhibit Christian qualities of patience, cheerfulness, optimism, flexibility, cooperation, and reliability
- Successfully pass background checks, drug screening, and complete the necessary training
- Able to observe, see, hear and respond to children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on the playground, and in the bathroom and common areas
- Must have strong physical stamina, able to lift 30 pounds from the floor
- Able to crouch to a child’s height, maintain eye contact at the child’s level, sit on the floor and get up from the floor easily
- Able to stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of outdoor equipment
- Able to run to a child in an emergency
- Able to participate in all daily activities including water activities, singing, and reading stories
- Able to move at a fast pace, quickly respond to a situation, jump into participation in an activity, or assist other staff
- Must be physically able to move furniture to set up and pack up the classroom
- Able to emotionally handle the daily stressors and situations that may occur
- Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid Certified (must be completed within 30 days of hire date)
- Must complete the Recognizing and Responding to Suspicions of Child Maltreatment Course (must complete within 30 days of hire date) *free online course at preventchildabusenc.org

JOB:Teacher Assistant
We are seeking to hire Teachers Assistants who are active Christians with a desire and calling to work with preschool-aged children for the 2022-23 school year
Responsibilities
- Serves as Teacher Assistant and is responsible for following the schedule as outlined by Preschool Director
- You are responsible for a wide variety of activities that range from implementing learning activities to lunch and toileting
- You will work closely with the Teacher, other employees, parents and the Preschool Director
- Recognize and greet each child and parent when entering the classroom
- Assist in planning the curriculum for classroom
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment for the children
- Relates instructions or observations concerning children to the classroom teacher
- Assume responsibility for your group in the absence of the classroom teacher; A substitute will be available, but you will be required to assume the teacher's duties
- Uses materials and equipment creatively
- Attends staff meetings, and in-service training sessions
- Assist in preparation of parent communications and bulletin board displays
- Confer with Classroom Teacher about needs, responsibilities, questions, or suggestions that you may have
- Participate in monthly duties and responsibilities as assigned to you by the Preschool Director
